Trophy Skin Review – Best Microdermabrasion Home Kit in 2018

Trophy Skin Home Microderm Kit

Introduction

Hello, member of the Health Base community…or some just random passerby! 🙂 My name is Beth and in this article I’m going to be reviewing the Trophy Skin home kit. As you’ll soon see, throughout this review I’ll switch between using the terms “microdermabrasion” and “microderm”.

These two terms all mean the same thing. The reason why I’ll use both so that you won’t get confused if you come across a microdermabrasion home kit as well as a microderm kit when you’re looking to make a purchase. It can be easy to think that these terms mean two different things. The truth is that they are the same type of treatment.

In terms of this review, myself and the Health Base Team have put considerable time and effort into studying this ever growing niche. As such, we believe that we have narrowed down the best home treatment kits to the one that is supplied by Trophy-Skin. If you’re looking for a more in-depth article on microdermabrasion as a whole, then I recommend that you take the time to look at my Complete Guide on this subject (thehealthbase.com/best-microdermabrasion-machines/) In this guide I go into far more detail about the whole process.

However, for now, let’s get stuck into this review so I can explain just why we at the Health Base were so taken with this particular home treatment kit. Enjoy! 🙂

The Benefits

To begin with, let's quickly go over some of the key benefits that can be gained by incorporating a microdermabrasion home kit into your health and beauty routine. I explain in more detail in my guide what exactly microderm is and why it’s needed.

The short version though is that this treatment method is a key weapon in that battle against accumulation – in fact, it’s probably the most effective weapon that there is. When I say accumulation, I mean the numerous agents and substances that build up on our faces of the years. These can include dead skin cells; excessive oil/sebum; dirt; air pollution; sun damage; aging effects and many more harmful agents.

Home treatment with one of these machines is also a super effective way of dealing with acne breakouts and even acne scarring. Check out our article on this particular subject for more information: treating Acne & Scarring with microdermabrasion.

Now, while having a top notch exfoliation routine will certainly help remove a lot of this unwanted nonsense, unfortunately, accumulation will still occur. This is especially prevalent when it comes to air pollution and sun damage – two things that are very hard to guard against 24/7, 365 days a year.

“Many of us think that only direct exposure to sun is dangerous for our skin – we assume that ‘natural light’ is fine. Think again! Just a little bit of UVA, all day, every day, really adds up.”

- Brandith Irwin, MD

This is where microderm treatment comes into the equation. Below are some of the key benefits of owning such a piece of equipment.

Microderm Benefits

The Brand

The guys and gals at Trophy Skin are a group of skin care professionals who have dedicated their company to creating top quality health and beauty products – as is evident with their home treatment kit.

It has to be said that the competition in the microdermabrasion niche is quite stiff. There are a ton of different kits, machines, creams, face mask, et cetera et cetera! The list of products and plans really is quite extensive. Therefore, as you can imagine, it takes something rather special in order to stand out from the crowd – we believe that the this particular brand has this special quality.

We’ve based this verdict on two reasons – firstly, they supply top level products that are a cut above the majority of the competition. These products are also cost effective in that they’re not overpriced and they deliver the service that they were designed to deliver.

The second reason why this brand have got the Health Base’s seal of approval is that it possesses a respected and ethical brand. This is something that is vital for us to ascertain. The Skin Trophy brand has a superb rating and reputation in the health and beauty niche – proven by the numerous customer testimonials and references that can be found. Such a reputation is absolutely vital when it comes to gauging the quality of a brand’s products

So, with that said, let’s get to the actual home kit!

The Trophy Skin Home Kit

I decided to review this kit by breaking up the necessary information into key questions. These are questions that need to be considered when it comes time to researching a possible microderm kit. Hopefully, such a layout will make it easy for you to navigate and pinpoint whatever it is that you’re looking for!

Question 1: The Type of Machine – Crystal or Diamond?

This is an important factor when it comes to gauging the effectiveness of a home machine. The importance lies in the fact that there is a clear winner!! It’s pretty much agreed upon by all microdermabrasion professionals or enthusiasts that diamond beats crystal when it comes to this treatment.

I explain the difference between the two types in my guide on the Best Microdermabrasion Kits. But, for the sake of staying on point, it’s easily summed up by saying simply that diamond tipped machines are far more effective than the crystal ones. Of course, therefore, this kit possesses a machine that uses diamond tips and not crystal technology.

Diamond Tip

After this, you next need to consider the quality of these tips – some brands create tips that are ineffective or else easily fall victim to wear and tear so that you’ll have to replace them. These diamond tips are what scour off the unwanted nonsense from your face so therefore it’s key that they are of the highest quality.

The diamond tips of the machine we're discussing in this review are just this – they are clinic standard. They will absolutely do the necessary job when it comes to exfoliating your face. In addition, you will also get a spare tip with the kit. Other brand’s kits offer more replacements, but we feel that this is to accommodate the fact that their tips are inferior in quality and/or durability.

Question 2: Do I Want My Microderm Machine to Suck?

This may seem an odd question, and, well, the answer will be just as odd…you definitely want your home machine to suck!! Actually, the more it sucks then the better it will be! Confused much? Allow me to explain. 🙂

Once you’ve loosened all the accumulative rubbish from your face’s surface with the diamond tips, the next thing you’ll need to do is to actually remove this rubbish. This is achieved by the microderm machine’s suction device. Yes, you heard right, the machine will actually suck all the bad stuff off your skin!

This is absolutely key. If there was no suction, or if the suction element of the machine had a low level of power, then all that nasty gunk and dirt would end up clogging up your pores. In terms of suction power with the Trophy Skin model it reaches a more than respectable level of 22 inches per Hg.

I personally find that this level of power is ideal for my skin. It is possible to get a higher level of power from other brands, but I’d advise caution in these cases. Too much power could very well have a detrimental effect on your skin.

A great element of this machine I'm discussing in this review is that there is a preset function build into its design. This means that you can start off on a lower power level – say 16 inches per Hg – and then build it up over time if you think you need that extra bit of kick.

Question 3: Will it Last the Test of Time?

This is rightfully a very important factor to consider when you are making a purchase – in particular if that purchase is something of a mechanical nature. There is no point in buying a product that delivers amazing results straight away but then breaks shortly afterwards. Pointless and incredibly vexing!! 🙁

In terms of durability, we found no issues with design or functionality of the product's machine. Though, in saying this, we obviously do not have the luxury of trying and testing the product for months on end. However, we can verify that it’s made from good quality materials and functions as it should.

We also took the time and care to sift through the online customer feedback and testimonials to see if anyone has had any issues with the durability of this particular machine. As far as we can determine, the vast majority of consumers had absolutely no issues with the robustness of this product.

When it comes to the durability and the longevity of a product, it’s always important to have a get out of jail card up your sleeve. This brings me nicely to my next area of focus – the warranty.

Question 4: What is the Warranty Length?

The warranty or money back guarantee is something that you should definitely be factoring into your decision making process when it comes time to buy a new product. This is no different when you’re considering a microdermabrasion home kit.

As alluded to before, a product of a mechanical nature is far more likely to have a fault in it then, let’s say, a cream or an item of clothing. This is because a machine has so many moving parts, not because they are an unreliable product type.

The company's warranty is quite frankly spectacular as it that covers you for three full years. This is an exceptionally good warranty length and really supplies the ultimate peace of mind when it comes to buying this particular microderm machine and kit.

3 Year Warranty

Question 5: Ultimately…is this Kit Cost Effective?

This is the bottom line question – the one that brings all the other questions together. Essentially, is the product good value? Does it deliver a top notch service for a relatively affordable price?  When it comes to crunch time, the answer to this question will decide whether or not you make that purchase.

As I’m sure you aware of by now, we at the Health Base do believe that the TrophySkin kit is very much cost effective. Fora very reasonable price, this product delivers an unrivalled microderm experience that will be guaranteed to improve the complexion and health of your skin.

While there are cheaper models on the market, we didn’t find one that was as proficient as the one I'm reviewing here in this article. The quality of the diamond tips and the suction power; the robustness and reliability of the physical machine; and the lengthy warrant all result in this product being great value for what you’ll pay.
